Gli strumenti musicali della musica tibetana e il loro simbolismo

Lo scopo dei monaci musicisti che appartengono alle varie tradizioni religiose del buddhismo tibetano è di rendere la "musica d'offerta" - Mchod-rol - il più piacevole possibile. Per ottenere questo, combinano con la voce cantata il tintinnio delle campane, lo sferragliare di piccoli tamburi, il suono tonante dei grandi tamburi, il luccichio dei piatti, a cui si sovrappongono, secondo le circostanze, il lamento delle conchiglie o delle trombe corte, il "barrito" delle trombe lunghe, e la brillantezza degli oboi. - Da dove vengono questi vari strumenti? - Quali sono le loro caratteristiche organologiche e le loro proprietà acustiche? - Che valore simbolico ricoprono? Queste sono alcune delle questioni affrontate in questa serata, che si basa sulla testimonianza di eminenti maestri religiosi, sulle tradizioni scritte tibetane, sull'iconografia e, soprattutto, sull’osservazione dell’autore dei rituali buddhisti negli ultimi venti anni.


Christian Gilardi

Christian Gilardi (Lugano, 5 June 1966) is a flautist, composer and producer. He is responsible for classical, jazz and world music programs in Italian language on the Swiss national radio and television stations.

He studied the transverse flute at the Conservatory of Milan with Marlena Kessick, and later completed his studies in Paris with Benoit Fromanger. He has made several recordings and composed soundtracks for films and documentaries. 

His interests have led him to study and practice Buddhism and its relationship with different cultures, especially in the field of music.
